I just wanted to take a moment to talk about a topic that can be a bit scary for new parents: Choking incidents in babies. It’s important to keep our little ones safe and there are certain things that I never knew about till I introduced my boys to solids. Here are a few things that I did to prevent choking incidences.
1.
I always made sure I fed my babies seating upright using a baby high chair. We got high chairs for them when they were 5 months old, they are almost 2 and they still use them.
Choosing the perfect high chair for your little one can be quite a task, but don’t worry I got you covered! Here are a few tips that help us when choosing a high chair.
Things to consider when buying a high chair for your baby.
-Look for a chair with adjustable features to accommodate your growing baby’s needs.
-Check the safety features: the chair should have a secure harness and stable base to avoid tipping.
-Choose a high chair that has locking features for safety.
-Choose a chair with easy-to-clean materials, like plastic or wipeable fabric, to make mealtime messes a breeze.
-Research the prices from different companies, preferably online so that when you have to go to the shops you have an idea of what you are looking for.

2.
I always cut their food into bite-sized pieces. This is how I have been serving fruits to my kids.
How to serve bananas to your baby?

How to serve oranges/naartjie to your baby?

How to serve strawberries to your baby?

How to serve blueberries to your baby?

3.
When they were younger I always made sure that I dished small portions for them in order to control how much food they were eating at once and always supervised them during meal times because they used to just shove their mouth full of food, we used to joke calling them chipmunks.
I hope you find these tips helpful, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We’re all in this together!
